Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computing

Dubrovnik, Croatia 4-9 June 2001

FIRST ANOUNCEMENT

The third conference on Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computing will be held June 4 - June 9 2001 at the Inter University Center in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The main idea of the conference is to bring together applied mathematicians both from and outside academia, as well as experts from other areas (engineering, business, applied sciences) whose work involves advanced mathematical techniques. We hope that the participants will enjoy and profit from the exchange of ideas between mathematics and real world applications. The main features of the scientific program will be mini courses, invited lectures, contributed presentations and poster session.

Call for Papers

Please register by sending an e-mail to amsc2001@math.hr : state your name and affiliation. If you would like to present your work, please e-mail us a one page abstract (in LATEX or TEX format). Please note that contributed talks will be 15 minutes long, plus 5 minutes for questions and comments. Invited presentations will be 45 minutes long.

 

Student Papers

To motivate young researches, we will choose best student paper submitted to the conference. To enter this competition, send your paper in postscript form to amsc2001@math.hr , or a hard copy of the paper to the address of the contact person given below. The paper should be single authored, with original research conducted by the student. The Organizing Committee will ask qualified reviewers to choose the best paper. The author of the best paper will receive a diploma and paid conference fee. It is expected that the winning author presents its work at one conference session.

The participants are asked to write the complete account number and the name and address of the institution in the payment order. Please include also "Department of Mathematics, AMSC 2001" as the receiver institution. To avoid any problems with the identification of your payment, we would appreciate a short e-mail message sent to the contact address. All payements must be free of bank charges to the receiver, i.e. all bank charges for effecting the international money transfer must me met by the remitter.

 

Lodging

Hotel 'Lero', which is in the walking distance from the IUC, is suggested for all participants. The prices quoted below are per person per night in US $.
