A BOUND FOR THE SPAN OF CERTAIN PLANE SEPARATING CONTINUA

Abstract.   Let Y be a plane separating continuum. Suppose X is an indented circle which is contained in a bounded component of R2 \ Y. It is shown that the span of Y is larger than or equal to the span of X.
